Care to join these Richard Rufus Project supporters?
Have you ever had trouble being succinct? Rufus thought he had. Beginning the third of five questions in his Mirror of the Soul (Speculum animae) Rufus writes:
“Vir Dei: Garrulus sum et loquax et expedire nescio. Diu te tenui in istis, sed de cetero procedam.”
In other words: “Man of God: Garrulous and loquacious, I do not know how to be efficient. I have detained you with these things a long while, and yet now I proceed to [still] another.”
